Make Money With Affiliate Programs

Making money with Affiliate Programs seems to be a trend that is growing rapidly. Or is it better to say that, joining Affiliate Programs is that growing trend? The truth is, that the percentage of Affiliates that make any amount of extra income is small. You will find that a great number of these Affiliates drop their programs after a short period of time due to numerous reasons--one being the lack of any income generated by their efforts. These members joined under the belief that several of these Affiliate Programs run on Auto-Pilot---Just join, and watch the money pour in, this is far from the truth.

One of the first things one must understand is the method that any Affiliate Program uses to make It's Profit. That Profit is achieved by recruiting a great number of Affiliates to Sell. or Market the product or program. The affiliate must understand that he or she has been given a product that they must market. Remember the Door to Door Salesman? He is given a Product, and then he goes Door to Door and promotes this product. Such is the same with the numerous programs avaliable online. As an affiliate, you are in fact, a door to door salesman. The difference is that you don't promote your product solely by knocking on doors--you promote it VIA the WEB.

Several of the Affiliate Programs offered today supply the member with ready-made Websites, Banners to display, text ads, splash pages and a number of tools to draw their customers. You not only have a ready-made Website, you can also advertise your program via your personal website or blog, which works effectively if you have a great number of visitors viewing your Site. Most are not that luckey, they are just looking for a ready-built Site that will draw traffic immediatly. Such is not the case.

Once you have your affiliate website up and running, you will have to draw visitors to your Site. How is this done? There are several methods used and several thought's regarding the best ways, by numerous "Internet Gurus". Every one has their own opinion, but the bottom line is Traffic. The target is to draw visitors to your Site that have an interest in the product you are trying to promote!! This can be done in numerous ways--If you are willing to devote the time to achive it.

One method used is Articles. Writing articles and submitting them to numerous directories has proven to been a great method in drawing a targeted traffic to ones website or blog. A well written article on a subject related to the product you are trying to promote can draw a great number of interested viewers to your Site. Most article directory's allow you to "Plug" your site in the author Bio, thus--the viewer, if interested goes to your Site.

Forums are another effective means of drawing traffic. When you join a forum, most allow you to list your website in your signature. Post often and give answers to question posted, comment on posts, and viewers have the option to go to your Site via your signature.

Ebooks have been effective in drawing traffic to my Site. Use the many tools avaliable online to write your own Ebook, an Ebook with a subject related to your product. Give it away, and allow others to give it away. This method gives your Ebook a chance to go widespread---keep in mind that you have once again "Advertised" your website in your Ebook, reaching more possible customers.

Traffic Exchanges used properly can also create a steady stream of traffic to your Site. Manual Exchanges with a 20 or 30 second timer seem to work well. The longer timer gives the viewer more time to possibly find something in the upper fold of your Site to make them scroll further down your Site.

The Internet Blues????

Have You Got the "Internet Marketing Blues"?  Here's How to Get on the Fast Track

Did you know that according to the World Internet Usage and Population Data that as of there were approximately 1,262,032,697 online as of November 2007?

Stop and think about those numbers for a minute!  There are more than 2 billion people online right now…that's pretty amazing, isn't it?

Now think about this for a minute…of those more than two billion people, how many of them have stopped at your Website and/or purchased one of your products or services?

Pretty depressing, right?

But don't let it get you down – because if you take the time to put together an Internet Marketing campaign, you'll stand a much better chance of making connections with a few more of them!

Let's start by looking at the four different stages visitors to your Website go through when they're online.  Although they've been classified in different ways, the four basic stages can be described as:

Just looking

Thinking about buying

Ready to buy

Let's start with the first one: Just Looking

People who are in this stage have something on their minds.  They want something – usually information – and they're probably not thinking about systematic keywords, or features of a particular product or service.  They're probably using very general one or two word searches to get more information about the niche or topic.

The best way to reach a visitor to your Website at this point in the game is simply to provide them with lots and lots of general information.  Some ways of doing that would be:

* Writing articles about the topic

* Reviewing different products or services and posting them to your Blog

* Offering a free, informative newsletter about the niche topic

* Doing weekly or monthly Podcasts

* Doing free teleseminars and interviewing experts in the industry, or arranging to be interviewed.

The main thing to remember is to provide lots of broad information.  The more questions you can answer for your visitor right now – the more they're going to remember you as they move through the buying cycle – and the more they're gong to perceive YOU as the expert in your industry or niche.

The Second Stage: Thinking about Buying

People who are in this stage of the buying cycle have the information they were looking for.  They understand the basics, and now they're starting to look for reasons to justify their purchase – they want to be convinced that they need it!

Something to keep in mind is that the larger and more expensive the purchase is, the more logical reasons you'll need to be able to give them.

So to engage visitors who are thinking about buying, you'll want to provide easy access to all the features of your product or service.  If you're selling cameras for example, this is where you'll want to have lots of customer reviews, descriptions of the different benefits and features of the product and answer all the "how to" information.

For example, you'll want to make it easy for someone to find out how they can buy your product or service, how you ship it, how much shipping costs and what your guarantee and return policy is.

You'll want to give them the logical reasons for justifying the purchase at this point.  (But don't forget that you need to keep showing them what your product or service is going to do for them at the same time – so be subtle, but push the benefits here too.)

By answering their "how" questions, you'll not only continue moving them through the buying cycle, you'll also help to guarantee that you're the one they're going to want to do business with, because you've shown them how easy – and secure – you've made the buying process.

The Third Stage: Ready to Buy

If you've done your job right, the people who are ready to buy will move quickly and smoothly through your sales process – and come out on the other end as something completely new – your customer!

Here's how to attract visitors who are ready to pull out their credit cards:

You've answered their "what" and "how" questions and they're feeling safe about making an informed decision.  So now you want to appeal to your visitor's "emotional" side.

Here's where you start piling on all the benefits and goodies and feelings of urgency!

Make sure you're giving visitors "future pictures" to get them thinking about what your product or service is going to do for them, and how it's going to make them feel.

Here are a couple of concrete examples:  If you're selling lawn services, for example, you're not really selling a greener lawn.  You're selling pride in yourself, in your home.  Becoming the envy of all your neighbors because of your beautiful yard!
Or if you're selling tooth whitener, you're really not selling whiter teeth.  You're selling sex appeal, and beauty and being instantly more attractive to the opposite sex.  You're appealing to the person's needs to look nice and
to have people think that they care about the way they look and feel.

See how easy that is?

When you're piling on the benefits, don't forget to take all the risk off the buyer's shoulders.  Offer a rock-solid guarantee – and be very clear about exactly what your guarantee is.

You'll want to add a sense of urgency to the offer – something needs to be time – or quantity-limited.  (People hate thinking that they're going to miss out on a bargain.)  And add enough – relevant – benefits that your visitor feels like they'd be a complete idiot to miss out on your deal.
That's really all there is to it.  By following these simple steps, you'll be able to turn those low-down, internet marketing blues into a "Happy Happy Joy Joy!" song as you watch visitors to your Website – and your sales – hit the high notes!

Viral Marketing

And the Buzz Goes On – How to Use Viral Marketing

Before we get into the meat and potatoes of how you can use viral marketing to help get a buzz going about your small business, let's start with a definition of exactly what "viral marketing" means.

According to the Wikipedia, "Viral marketing and viral advertising refer to marketing techniques that use preexisting social networks to produce increases in brand awareness, through self-replicating viral processes, analogous to the spread of pathological and computer viruses. It can be word-of-mouth delivered or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet. Viral marketing is a marketing phenomenon that facilitates and encourages people to pass along a marketing message voluntarily. Viral promotions may take the form of video clips, interactive Flash games, advergames, images, or even text messages."

If you've ever had a hotmail, yahoo or G-mail account, you've participated in a viral marketing campaign every time you sent an email to someone – because the company inserted a small (and usually discreet advertisement) at the bottom of all of your outgoing emails – inviting the people you were communicating with to receive their own free email account.

So how can you put a viral marketing campaign together for your own business – and more importantly, do you even want to?

Let me answer that second question first, okay?  YES! You definitely want to take the time to brainstorm your own viral marketing campaign – even if you don't someday want to be as big as hotmail, yahoo or Gmail.

Why?  Because according to a recent survey done by Forrester Research, people are almost 65% more likely to trust a review posted by a peer – or even a complete stranger – than they are to trust the marketing or sales information put out by the company.

Don't believe me?  Check out Amazon.com and I-tunes.  Why is this the case?   Because as consumers we tend to think that the average "Joe Blow" has less of a personal agenda when posting his review about the latest "Dixie Chicks" album and so we give it more weight.

And, by the way, this is a normal reaction – it's one that's kind of hard-wired into all of us.  People have always shared the things they like – or hate – with their friends and family members.  Back in the 50's and 60's, our grandparents used to talk to their neighbors over the "back fence," call each other on the phone or tell their friends during lunch.  The difference is, these days we use the Internet and cell phones.

What's interesting though, is that with the popularity of the Internet, our trust - and believe in "social proof" – has become even stronger.

By creating your own viral marketing campaign, you'll be doing more than getting the word out about your new affiliate product.  You'll be gathering social proof – and that will help your sales to go through the roof.

So how do you set up your own viral marketing campaign?  The first thing to do is to get back to the basics.

Here's the real "secret" to making a lot of money with affiliate products.  Have the right product, with the right message to the right people in the right time.

So start with your affiliate product.  Make sure that there's a hungry audience for whatever you're selling.

Then make sure that you're sending out the right message – an in the right way.  If you're marketing a product to teens, you'll want to make sure that it's something they want – and you'll have to reach them where they're hanging out.  That might be on MySpace, twitter or even Friendster.

What's the right message?  Maybe it's a special report.  But it could just as easily be a video.  Or an audio mp3 file.  Match your message to your audience.  And finally, make sure that you're getting your message out at the right time – when your audience is ready to buy it.

Make your viral marketing campaign stand out from the crowd – because that's how it's going to get passed around and become viral.  By understanding the basics – who your audience is, what they want, how they want to get it and when they want it – all you have to do next is to create something that your audience loves – or hates – or finds interesting enough – to pass around to their friends.  And because your product comes with an implied endorsement – social proof – those people will pass it around to other people – and the buzz goes on…and on…and on…and you'll start hearing the "ka-ching!" of your cash register going off a lot more often

Article Publishing---Increase your Traffic !!

With the many Websites and Blogs being added everyday, the need to increase your ranking in search engines, and Draw Traffic to Your Site or Blog is becoming more and more difficult. The greater number of Websites give viewers a larger selection to choose from. As a Website or Blog owner you are probably using several different tools to Promote your Site, some perhaps Free, while others cost. One method, overlooked by many, has become a primary part of My Personal promoting Campaign, Article Writing ! The reason for this is that Writing Articles has proven to be a Free and Effective method of delivering Traffic to my Site, day after day. There have been numerous Articles that receive thousands of viewers a year! How does this help you? Your Article has a Author Bio, this is where you enter Info about YOU, including your Website!!!

Your Traffic will not only increase by people following your Link to your Site, but also when another Site or Blog uses your Article. To use your Article--They must leave it in Tact--meaning your link to your Site is now avaliable on their Site also--In your Article ! Not only is this a great way to increase your Traffic, it also improves your Link Popularity. How---When you Publish your Article--You have a Link back to your Site, When someone uses your Article---Bingo--A link back to your Site. After publishing your Articles, you can check for Links easily--go to a search engine and enter---Link:Your Site.com--a list will show-Up.

Let's Do It!!!

Find a subject that interest you, and you feel will interest other people---One way to determine the popularity of a subject is to do a Keyword Search. Any search engine will do that--this shows you what people are looking for.

If you are already familiar with your subject---Start Writing---if not---do the research on your subject until you can write an informative Article.

Give your viewer a "TON" of information (Useable Info). I believe 400 to 700 words is usually enough, but feel free to do whatever it takes to get the point across. Do Not--drag it on--The object is to keep the readers interest, and gain his trust that you know what you are talking about--Bringing the reader to your BIO!!

Publish It!!!

There are countless Article Submission Sites. There are authors that believe One Good Article, On One or Two Sites is enough. My logic is --if you have written a great article, that draws alot of Readers--It will draw even more on several submission sites. Software is avaliable to submit your Articles to numerous Sites and decrease the amount of time you spend submitting. You can purchase Software, or find a free download. Whichever way you go--the object is to Get Your Article viewed.

So--If you are looking for a "No Cost" or "Low Cost" Effective tool to use in the Promotion of Your Site or Blog----Write some Articles--There's a little "Author" in all of us.

Affiliate Programs---A Few Simple Points

Which Program

Make sure the affiliate program you choose is something that you believe is truly usable

and a great service or product for people. Your enthusiasm about the product will come

through in the people you talk to and even in Your Website. Having a Strong interest

In your product or service will show your Belief in the product, and also

give the customer a sence that you are somewhat of an Authority.

Learn From Others

Once you have decided on an affiliate program that you would like to work with, it is

important that you take the time to learn about your program as well as affiliate

marketing in general. Most affiliate programs offer a forum or other way for people to

exchange marketing ideas and information to help make that affiliate program the best it

can be.Use their Forums and Support. Read all the posts in the forum or blog

regarding the affiliate program. Post your questions and don’t feel

like you can’t ask something. Most likely many other people have the same question as

you and will appreciate you asking it. Also remember, other members who are

successful, will be more than happy to tell there "NEWBIE", a few pointers!

Not Enough Info

The lack of information will stop customers from continuing on to the sales

page. If you cannot provide enough basic information about the product, then why would

bother to click on another link that you give me?

Too little information makes you look like an amateur who does not really know about

the product they are selling. You are not an amateur since you have done research about

your product and understand fully what you are offering, so show your prospective

clients that they can trust your research and buy the products you recommend.

A good affiliate marketing sales page will be informative and positive. It will offer

potential customers the chance to become interested about a program or product enough

that they decide to click on the link and go to main sales page.

Get Their Contact Info

Anyone coming to your Site, should be considered a customer--whether they Buy or not. How many products are bought every day on the second or third look?

The object of all the time and work you have put into you Website, is to acguire customers, so it vital you take every step possible to target them. How?--get there contact Information--- This allows you to "Keep In Touch" once they have left your Site.

The best way to do this is to give them a free gift, via a squeeze page, and then

after they sign up to get the gift send them directly to the sales page using your affiliate

link. You can easily set it up to do this from your autoresponder account.

The key to making this work is the free gift must be of high quality, and it must be

related to the product you are promoting. Use your own knowledge about the subject

area to put together a short article or ebook that you can offer to your potential customers.

Time

There is no Affiliate Program that will produce the results you want, without investing your time into it. So many factors are invovled in making you program a sucess, that you could write several Novels on the subject. Start with the basics, use them to your advantage,

then once your are familiar with a particular procedure, move on to, and incorporate

another method into your marketing approach. So many people Fail and become

Frustrated because they have "Taken on to Much". I know people who have joined three

or four programs at the same time, just to Fail at them all. Reason---They failed to implement

a Strategy, failed to do the research, and failed to put the time into producing one productive

site--rather than dividing the time among 4 Futile attempts. The quality of your site will

reflect the quality of time and research you put into it.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing Basics: Let’s Talk About Traffic

When you’re just getting starting in Affiliate Marketing, one of the most important things you need to learn about is traffic – specifically what it is and how to get it.

Why?

Because although it’s become somewhat of a cliche these days, the truth is, “the money is in the list” – but that means YOUR list, not the list of the people whose products you’re selling – at least not if you want to be successful.

Here’s why.  As an affiliate, your job is to find people who want to buy the products you’re promoting, right?  So to do that, you need to write an ad (or hire a copywriter to write it for you), and send people to a Website where they can buy the product.

BUT – there’s a serious problem with using this method.  Do you see what it is?

Anywhere from 60 to 95% of the people you send to the sales page probably aren’t going to buy the first time.

1. Most people want to be certain that they’re making the right decision, so they usually need to see or hear from you between 5 to 12 times before making a buying decision.

2. If you’re paying for the ad and sending people to the seller’s Website, the ones who don’t buy disappear forever. (And neither you nor the seller will benefit.)

3. Of those who do buy, if you’re only sending them to the sales page, YOU still lose them forever because you have no way of knowing who they are.

Here’s the solution:

1. Write your ad and send prospects to a well-written squeeze page – YOUR squeeze page. (A squeeze page is a single page Website that has one purpose – to convince prospects to give you their contact information.  Squeeze pages should be simple – no flash, no links, and if you use a graphic or photo, keep it simple and make sure it relates to the purpose of the page.  How do you convince prospects to give you their contact information?  By giving them information that is what they’re expecting to find and that’s useful to them.)

2. Offer them an incentive to give you their contact information. (This could be a free report, a free newsletter, an audio or video product – just make sure it’s related to the niche or affiliate product.)

3. After they’ve opted in to your autoresponder, send them to your affiliate sales page.

4. Follow up with them on a regular basis – mixing good information, free bonuses from time to time and additional affiliate products.

Lather, rinse, repeat. (Once you’re making money from your first affiliate product, move on to the next and then the next and the next.)

The best thing about this is that you can set most of it up on your autoresponder, so you turn it into a “system” and it runs “almost” on autopilot.  (There is NO SUCH THING as a business that runs 100% on autopilot – and don’t believe anyone who tells you differently.)  Any business – real business – takes work and effort.  But by setting this system up this way, your autoresponder does the majority of the work, and you will only need to do simple updates and make sure you keep fresh information flowing.

Promoting Your Blog Or Website

Promoting your Website or Blog, can be a Challenge, several Ebooks, Programs, and Websites are Dedicated to selling Products associated with Marketing your Site. One can become overwhelmed by the ever growing amount of Information and Opinions on succesfull methods of drawing traffic to your Site.

I believe that one of the most common causes of Failure in this pursuit is, "To Much Info". What do I mean by that. In your hurry to increase the Traffic heading to your Site, people will take on numerous "programs", spend little time with each, and achieve " Little Results " Is it better to be spending your time on 10 different methods and achieving Little, or one or two methods, and achieving greater results? More is not always better, the quality of your work is. Now---I am not saying that multiple Programs are not going to help you--what I am saying is " adopt One or Two programs that you have the time to dedicate to, allowing you more time per program, and you will see results".

What would be My Choices?

Blogging----I can already hear you, " Joe---Why would I start a Blog ( something else I have to Get people to ) to increase the Traffic to my Website? The answer is easy--Your Blog can be Free, easy to design, and has an array of tools , buttons, just about anything you can name.

What Makes A Blog A Marketing Tool?

Once you have your Blog--"all the Bell's and Whistles", you join Blogging communities. These are communities where other Bloggers have listed their Blogs on just about any subject you can name. You can Join these for Free, and I have found that for the cost ( FREE ), a well written blog, updated regularly, and with interesting Content, can draw a large crowd. So how does this help your Website? FREE ADVERTISING!!!!----What better place to "plug" your Product or Website, offer Links to it than a Blog that you control the content. Blogging can be a minor investment ( considering your investment is time ), that return very good results. As i said ----Put the time into it and be Creative.

Article Writing:

Yep---there's a little bit of Author in all of us. Articles can be Fun to Write, and really don"t require that much time.

Articles can be written about any subject, and submitted to many directories, and I MEAN MANY. Articles are Free to Submitt, and if well written about an interesting topic--one people search for--can draw a Great Amount of traffic to your Site. How---You can Mention your Site in your Author Bio, interest people will follow the Link----So--more Free advertising.

Hopefully, this information will be usefull to you.

Blogging

The blogging world these days keeps growing bigger and bigger before our eyes. Many people are tapping into the power that blogs have and are starting to make their own. The thing is though that many bloggers that are beginners tend to fail because they stop blogging out of frustration of not getting it right the first time. Blogging is an easy thing to do, but it is actually getting your blog to convert which is the hardest.

Today, I would like to go over some things that can help you out with the conversion of your blog, so you can make more money from it.

1. Content of Blog

You must have fresh unique content coming to your blog everyday. You pretty much want all unique content as you are trying to out beat other websites
. A blog should only be about one topic and one topic only so you won’t confuse your reader as to what your point is.

You can be opinionated in your blog and you can write your posts as if you are having a conversation with your visitors. Getting on a one on one with your visitors will make them want to read more about your content.
